2019, 2:59:28, live performance, 1 channel video projection, 16:9 aspect ratio
A real-time interactive video projection performance exploring the influence of the camera's field of view on the temporal experience of space. The camera/audience is locked in a 3 hour journey through myriad thresholds of experience derived from memory fragments altered by time and nostalgia. As the performer I self-limited the possibilities to incremental adjustments of the camera field of view and orientation. Although limiting, the experience of space can be dramatically altered by minor adjustments in framing and focal length.
Performed at the 2019 Big Ears Festival as part of the 12 hour drone event ALL NIGHT FLIGHT: DREAMS OF THE WHIRLWIND. The structure of the program was divided into hour-long segments featuring a single performer with 30 minutes of overlap between performances. I designed a corresponding architecture alternating between larger environments (for solo performances) and transitional corridors (for overlapping performances).
